Call for potential sites for housing development

You may be aware that Wicken Parish Council is preparing a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish. As part of its preparation, it is important to consider the merits of potential sites for development in order to address local housing needs over the next 15 years.

At this time, a decision has not been made to allocate sites and it is not known the level of growth, if any, that will be planned.

The Parish Council is now seeking submissions from anyone with an interest in land that would like it to be considered for possible inclusion in the Neighbourhood Plan for housing development. Sites must be at least 0.2 hectares in size and be able to accommodate at least five dwellings.

A submission form is available (see right), or can be completed online at: www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/Wicken-Sites/

It is important to be clear that submitting sites for consideration does not mean that it will necessarily be allocated in the Neighbourhood Plan, nor does it mean that it is more likely to gain planning permission. At this stage the Parish Council is simply interested in considering all the possible options for development in the Parish. All sites submitted will be independently assessed by Planning Consultants to determine their potential suitability for development. A report on this assessment will be published at a later date.

Submissions must be received by 30 April 2026 and submitted to: Wicken Parish Council c/o 42 Chapel Lane, Wicken CB7 5XZ clerk@wickenparishcouncil.co.uk.
